French Summer Wedding Inspired Shoot

Nicolette van Niekerk
About four years ago, I started dreaming about a French inspired wedding shoot, but with all the food menu items added as well. This would be ideal for a bride that is still looking for some ideas relating to the beautiful warm summers in France. Due to our family history and relation to Provence, France, I immediately started sourcing recipes that was from this origin. With the menu and the links to the recipes listed below, the bride can now get a better idea what to add to her wedding banquet, but also download each recipe from our blog. We kept the colours of the table, gowns and stationary to very earthly tones, but used mostly olive green, grey and white. I kept all the food to organic, fresh and simple. Fresh herbs, olive branches and candles were used to create a table runner. A fresh approach to the guest favours was taken by giving each person a bottle of olive oil, infused with garlic, rosemary and black pepper. The bread on the table was wrapped with a special french poem, printed on a thin paper to keep the bread from drying out, and at the same time giving each guest a special thank you. All the food was created on site, freshly made and enough for six guests. We actually had so much food left that the whole team of suppliers sat down to eat afterwards! That is probably the best thing of being part of a food styled shoot…
