Every year November, the organization Kidz 4 Care in Melkbosstrand, hold a High Tea event. They firstly assist with raising funds, but also create awareness for under privileged kids with specific needs in the area. The organization that they assist with, is the Melkbos Care Centre in Melkbosstrand on the West Coast near Cape Town.
You can visit their website on http://www.ubunye.org/ and learn more on the amazing work that they do for these kids, with great success stories coming from each one of them.
La Petite Patisserie has been approached by the Kidz 4 Care charity organization for the third year in a row, to create a beautiful centre piece cake, which can be auctioned off to create funds. We have done it with great pride once again, and would love to share some pictures with you of the cake and also of the event as well.
The lovely flower arrangements was done by the talented Otto Bester from Cape Town.
I have never seen so many confectionary, desserts and cakes donated to one event, all from ladies in the organization and from the area for this very good cause. They worked very hard to make the event a success and with reason. All contributed either time, money, creative talents or their baking expertise to the High Tea. Lieva Starker, were the Violinist that played the violin at the tea that morning, creating just the right mood and setting for a High Tea.
Would you love to attend next year’s event? It is traditionally being held in Melkbosstrand at the beautiful beach house of owner Mayne Schoeman. You can contact her on 021-5532501 to find out more on the High Tea event and how you can attend or contribute to the next one.
Loving all the decor, I just had to captured the beautiful and very vintage items that was used to create the beautiful tables…
Another treat to the morning tea, was the “Tea and Cake pairing” that was held by Carmien Tea Company from Citrusdal near Cape Town. Phialene, the marketing manager of the company, introduced these Rooibos teas via a tasting session to all the ladies. You can find their teas around the world already and at most of our selected supermarkets in Cape Town. Contact them by visiting their website to book a tea tasting session. http://www.carmientea.co.za/tea-lifestyle/tea-tasting-pairing/
Also at the event, were Andre Daniels, a new and upcoming artist from Cape Town.
