It’s now been about two years since I’ve first met Susan Weyers. She booked for a Foodservice Business Management class at our academy and her dream of opening her own bakery/Tea room probably started long before that I am sure…Previously, and as most of you have gotten to know her, she owned the very successful home-business in Paarl called “Ooh Koek“. Selling mostly wedding cakes and home baked products, her passion for creating wonderful edible art has lead to the opening of the very cute , peaceful, country-styled Tea Room.
After completing the Business Module with us, she approached me with assisting her a bit further with her business dream and so our journey started.I’ve assisted her with some recipe standardization and calculations as part of our consultation package but mostly saw her developing her own unique style when it comes to small bakes and talented cake decorating techniques. Because we offer food photography as well to our clients, she hired my services every 3 months or so, always ensuring new fresh photos are uploaded to her website and new products are displayed…clever girl.
I would like to share photos of her work with you, but also in the same sentence, share the before and after photos of The Wall Cottage.Photos of the menu items as well as interior photos was also done by us so it really feels like we’ve done a full circle within the product development cycle with Susan.
I’ve enclosed their details at the bottom of this page.Read more on their Facebook page about them, actually do try and visit their cottage for wonderful freshly baked tea time scones, light lunches and of course cakes!
Susan has clearly been such an inspiration to all of our cake decorators within the industry. We all love to visit her and enjoy her hospitality while sitting down for a cuppa tea..
